Christian Horner, the Red Bull Team Principal, has recently shared his thoughts on the surprising sacking of Alan Permane from the Alpine F1 team. Horner ardently believes that his fellow countryman has a wealth of experience when it comes to F1 and would most probably be back in the sport soon.

The Alpine F1 team decided to part ways with its former team principal, Otmar Szafauer, and racing director, Alan Permane, during the Belgian Grand Prix, which shook the whole Formula 1 paddock. Several pundits were surprised by the French team’s out-of-the-blue move, and even Christian Horner was baffled by it.

While the 20223 F1 season is currently in its month-long summer break, Horner has come forward and said, “Hats off to what he’s done with that team(Benetton to Renault to Lotus, back to Renault then to Alpine), particularly, the difficult periods when they were looking at insolvency and the issues with shareholders and the transfer for all the team.

He added, “That’s when the team needs clear guidance and leadership and mainstays, and I was particularly impressed at that point in time that he was a solid pillar. He’s been there through the world championship periods of Michael Schumacher and Fernando Alonso, so a hugely competent guy. I doubt he’s going to be unemployed for too long.”

While Christian Horner has applauded Alan Premane for his relentless work in F1 over the last decade, the Red Bull team principal is very satisfied with how the 2023 season has panned out for his team. Courtesy of Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen’s efforts behind the wheel of the RB19, the team has won every race this year.

Moreover, as things stand, the Milton-Keynes-based team is comfortably leading both Championships, with none of the other teams even in sight. Max Verstappen has led the team’s charge incredibly well this year and he is one of the main reasons why Red Bull has proved in a league of its own in 2023.

The Formula 1 extravaganza is currently at a halt because of the ongoing summer break. Still, considering what Helmut Marko and Co. have said recently, it seems Red Bull is going to push to the maximum with the hope of winning all the races during the second leg of the ongoing campaign as well.
