The Red Bull Formula 1 team has been on a dominant run in the sport since 2022, and amidst their ever-tightening grip, its Team Principal, Christian Horner, has claimed that in the upcoming years, his team can supply engines to up to four teams if they want to. They have everything in place but, for the time being, will only focus on their teams.
The Red Bull F1 team breezed past its competition last year after facing some resistance from the Ferrari F1 team during the initial rounds. Moreover, for the ongoing campaign, Red Bull has produced an incredible weapon in the form of the RB19, and it has quite easily kept all the other competitors in check.
From 2026 onward, Red Bull is going independent regarding engine production. While talking about the capacity of the new base where the in-house engines would be made, he said, as reported by Planet F1, “We are an independent engine manufacturer. We have a great relationship with Ford, which is working very well, [but] essentially, we’re an independent engine manufacturer and that has longer-term strengths and advantages as well.”
He added, “We’ve geared our facility for circa four teams so that’s something that we will be capable of doing longer term. But I think our focus is very much on first establishing ourselves and getting a group of people to be integrated with the chassis team, to work as one collective unit. It’s an enormous, enormous undertaking but we’re on that journey and we’re making reasonable progress.”

Christian Horner and Co. are in prime position to dominate F1 until 2026

While Christian Horner and Co. are setting up their garden to build their engine units from 2026, they have nailed the regulations that kicked in at the start of last year’s campaign. Red Bull has been the top dog in the sport since 2022, and seeing Max Verstappen‘s ever-growing stature in F1, they’re in a good place to rule over the sport until the end of 2025.
The 25-year-old is their most prized possession, and the way he has performed at the pinnacle of motor racing in recent years, it seems almost a guarantee that Red Bull will continue ruling over the sport. Moreover, regarding the ongoing campaign, they are currently on an incredible winning run.
Christian Horner has brilliantly led the Red Bull F1 team, and considering the optimism that he has shown around his team building its engines from 2026, it is very likely that they could stretch their dominant run even beyond that year. However, it would not be easy considering the pedigree of some of the other F1 teams.
