Carlos Sainz, the Spanish driver for Ferrari, started from the p position at his team’s home race in Monza. Then, he went on to defend hard against the Red Bull pair of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez, eventually coming out second best in both the occasions. Horner commented upon Carlos Sainz’s performance at the Grand Prix, claiming the pole-sitter was ‘very robust’ and ‘a little late’. In response to this, the SkySports reporter Ted Kravitz claimed these comments were ‘not cool’.

Kravitz said,“I thought that comment from Christian Horner when he said Sainz was defending as if his life depended on it…if Horner meant that in a sort of antsy way, well that’s not cool,” while speaking on Ted’s Notebook. Kravitz claimed it is Sainz’s job to defend against Max Verstappen, Sergio Perez, and whoever else it is on track as they try to get past him. So, Horner had no right to mock the Spaniard by saying he was ‘a little late’.

Horner also mentioned in his post-race comments how Carlos was driving a Ferrari at Monza, he is bound to defend his lead. “He’s driving a Ferrari, at Monza, he’s going to defend for his life.”  Carlos Sainz look lead in the starting laps of the Grand Prix but eventually finished in P3 as Verstappen and Perez overtook him for the leading two spots on the Podium.

The Prancing Horse came out second best to the Red Bulls at Monza, their very own fabled cathedral. Despite them missing out on a win, the team seem to have garnered a positive outlook over the weekend. It can be very well said that the Maranello squad found new speed and belief after several upsetting outings at the previous Grands Prix.

Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz beat Max Verstappen to pole on Saturday, and he led the opening few laps during the Main Race too. Sainz and Leclerc, the Ferrari duo finished behind Red Bull at P3 and P4, respectively. This result came in the wake of some upgrades that the Italian team got done for Monza. This might push the team to further close their gap to the dominating Red Bulls in the subsequent races.

Earlier in the year, many officials and the drivers at Ferrari were clear about their goal and it was challenging Red Bull for the 2024 season and looking for a sneaky win in 2023. This weekend’s result will be welcome as the speed gap to Red Bull is looking to be a narrow one for Ferrari. But it remains to be seen how the Red army fares in the future races.
