Daniel Ricciardo has impressed everyone in the paddock with his blasting Mexican GP performance. The Aussie qualified ahead of the Mexican Sergio Perez and finished P7 in the Sunday race. Ricciardo couldn’t perform well at the Austin weekend because it was a sprint weekend. Hence, the 34-year-old has fared well in his late-season performance.

The Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner was one of the many appreciating the Honey Badger over his sublime weekend. Horner claimed that Ricciardo endorsed why he was accepted into Alphatauri. The Red Bull boss later added that he was ‘outstanding’ this weekend and gave a tough battle to the Ferraris.

It is great to see Daniel performing so well and fully endorses the reason why we brought him back into the AlphaTauri. I thought he was outstanding this weekend, fighting Mercedes in an AlphaTauri, so it was a great performance and certainly looked like the Daniel of old this weekend.

Horner also talked about Ricciardo’s gap to the race leader Max Verstappen and added that the Aussie is back to his old self with confidence. The Briton finally applauded Ricciardo and claimed that he did a great job.

The time delta to Max was less than a tenth so a remarkable performance by him. He's back to his old self, he's confident and he came into the weekend fully motivated after a tricky Austin coming back from injury. I thought he did a great job this weekend.

How did Daniel Ricciardo react to his astounding performance?

This was the second GP of the Australian after his injury recovery break. Ricciardo claimed that the Mexican weekend was great and additionally, it was a weekend that he dreamt of. The 34-year-old claimed that he wasn’t surprised by the great result as he was prepared fully for the race.

Regardless of the P7 finish, the Aussie was a bit disappointed as he missed out on an opportunity of a P6 finish. The Red Flag caused Ricciardo to lose some pace to the drivers and caused him to fall down a position. However, the Honey Badger emphasized the importance of safety considering the significant accident of the Haas.

Despite a major injury, Daniel Ricciardo has bounced back from his setback and has displayed an impressive comeback to the grid. The Aussie continues to cheer onto the remaining three races of the season and looks hopeful of scoring even better results for the upcoming race weekends.
