Max Verstappen has once again made history today. He has finally wrapped up his iconic 2023 season with his third consecutive championship. As he is now short of only one title from the Red Bull legend Sebastian Vettel, comparisons between the two have already been made. Red Bull boss Christian Horner has picked his side as he claims that Verstappen will evolve much further than Vettel.

Vettel won four consecutive championships with the team from 2010 to 2013. He also became the youngest driver to ever do so at just 23 years of age. Horner claimed that while they won many accolades with Vettel, Verstappen has far greater potential. He said that Verstappen is the most competitive driver he has ever met and has already inked his name with the best in the sport.

“With did a lot of winning with Sebastian, but this is taking it to yet another level, Max’s only 26, and I think he’s still gonna get better, he’s still gonna evolve, he still can grow as a driver. He’s the most competitive driver I’ve ever met. He’s out there with the very best,” said Horner.

Now, with the title race wrapped up, Verstappen might focus on breaking some more records. He currently stands at 407 points. With five more races, he can easily beat his record for the most points in a season. He set that record in 2022 with 454 points.

Max Verstappen labels his third title as the “best one” yet

While Verstappen’s third title came to him in a much less climactic way as compared to 2021, it does not change the fact that he has joined the list of F1’s all-time greats. Of his three championships, Verstappen has claimed that the latest title is the best one for him yet.

He said that the first title was more of an emotional one for him. But the 2023 title has been the best for him since he completely dominated the season. He claimed that his car was in the best shape throughout the year and was happy with the consistency he showed.

“This one is the best one. I think the first one was the most emotional one because that’s when your dreams are fulfilled in F1. But this one definitely in my opinion has been my best year also for consecutive wins and stuff,” said Verstappen.
