Red Bull Racing has now won the past 12 races in F1. The Milton Keynes-based team is the first in the sport’s history to accomplish this massive feat. Previously, it was McLaren that held the record for the most consecutive wins for a team with 11 in 1989. Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner expressed his emotions about this massive feat.
Horner took a trip down memory lane as he recalled the incredible 1989 F1 season. The 49-year-old mentioned watching McLaren’s Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost make history with the legendary MP4/4 under Ron Dennis’ leadership. He said, “As a young kid, I remember watching the McLaren of Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna, and Ron Dennis was an incredible team principal.”
Christian Horner admitted that he was pleased to have his team break this decades-old record. The Red Bull team boss believed this showed that the Austrian team had truly excelled this season as the Milton Keynes-based team remained undefeated in 2023. He explained, “To claim that record is an incredible feat, and a testament to the hard work from the team.”

Red Bull Racing make history with 12 wins in a row
The Austrian team has won all 11 season races, with Max Verstappen bagging 9. This record extends from the 2022 Abu Dhabi GP, also won by the two-time world champion. Verstappen has won seven races in a row this season. This could allow the Dutch driver to break another record potentially.
Sebastian Vettel holds the record for the most consecutive wins for a driver in F1. The German driver won nine back-to-back races in his dominant 2013 title campaign with Christian Horner’s team. Now, Verstappen might be set to achieve this feat as he remains in a league of his own this season. However, that might be more bittersweet for Horner.
Thus, Christian Horner is delighted to have his team break McLaren’s decades-old record. The 49-year-old got the opportunity to surpass a team he admired during his early years when he was merely a spectator. Although, it seems that the Red Bull team boss was now ready for the Milton Keynes-based team to break even more records.
