Christian Horner was making headlines for the wrong reasons over the past few weeks. The attention of the paddock was on the Briton over allegations of inappropriate behavior by a female Red Bull employee. The 50-year-old was cleared after an investigation. However, the entire saga started a turmoil with Milton Keynes.
Christian Horner had a public fallout with Max Verstappen’s father Jos Verstappen regarding the investigation. Moreover, it was believed that Late Dietrich Mateschitz’s son wanted to oust the Briton with the help of Dr. Helmut Marko. Nevertheless, as things calmed down over the past few days, Red Bull GmbH set up a high level meeting in Dubai.

As per Auto Motor und Sport (AMuS), Christian Horner emerged stronger than ever after this meeting. The 50-year-old continues to enjoy the support of Thai majority stake holder Chalerm Yoovidhya. Yoovidhya is reportedly completely behind Horner’s plans as he aims to take complete control of Red Bull including its motorsport arm.
However, Horner could lose Chalerm Yoovidhya’s support if the Briton was found guilty by a civil court. Previously, it was rumored that the Thai billionaire was not happy about US activists wanting to boycott Red Bull over the Christian Horner saga.
Max Verstappen’s manager was present at Red Bull GmbH meeting
Previously, there were rumors that Verstappen could leave Red Bull if Christian Horner remained in power. However, the three-time world champion put an end to such speculation. The Dutchman claimed that he would stay with the team for the future. Although, things could take a turn after the Dubai meeting.

Max Verstappen‘s manager Raymond Vermeulen was reportedly in Dubai during the meeting. Vermeulen is believed to have held talks with Yoovidhya. Although, the exact topic of discussion is not known. As per AMuS, the agenda is clear, Verstappen will leave Red Bull if Christian Horner continues as Red Bull Team Principal.
Moreover, Red Bull Managing Director Oliver Mintzlaff and CEO Franz Watzlawick are reportedly worried about their own position in the company. It is rumored that Red Bull Holdings could be moved to Dubai.
Certainly, it seems that Red Bull has found itself in turmoil once again. Christian Horner’s massive support from the Thai side has given him more power amidst the recent controversies. However, so far no comment has been made to the public. It will be interesting to see how things pan out for Milton Keynes in the coming weeks.
