The recent Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez rivalry train has run out of steam. Coming into the ongoing Mexican GP weekend, the headlines were dominated by there being an intense rivalry between the Red Bull drivers. However, since landing in Mexico City, both Verstappen and Perez have shown a united front.
Moreover, Christian Horner, the Red Bull team principal, has put the final nail in the coffin by coming out and admitting that there is no kind of rivalry between his drivers. He believes that the rumors are nothing but made-up things and firmly feels that Verstappen and Perez are on the same page.
While talking about the same at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez Circuit, Horner told Soymotor:
Well, first of all, I really need to disappoint you: there is no rivalry between the drivers. They have gotten along very well for three years and, although I'm sure the media would love for them to be at odds, unfortunately for you they don't. They work very well together on and off the track, and we have seen it on many occasions.
The Brit has made it pretty clear that everything is fine with the Red Bull camp and that both its drivers are one hundred percent on board with achieving the team’s targets for the remainder of the 2023 F1 season.
Christian Horner and Co. will look to secure a P1 and P2 finish in Mexico
While Christian Horner has made it known that there is no rivalry between Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez, he would be looking to see a solid outing from both his drivers during the upcoming Mexico GP qualifying session and also during tomorrow’s main Grand Prix.
Verstappen dominated both the FP1 and FP2 sessions yesterday and looked completely at ease, but the same was not the case with Red Bull’s other driver, Sergio Perez. The Mexican faced quite a few issues and did not really look comfortable behind the wheel of the all-conquering RB19.

The FP3 session is just a few hours away and it would be Perez’s last opportunity to dial himself and the car in as per the characteristics of the track. Considering this, several eyes are going to be on the Mexican driver in comparison to the reigning world champion, Max Verstappen.
