Lawrence Stroll desperately wants to bring Newey to the Silverstone-based team from next year onward.

I enjoy [it]. Ever since I was 10 or so, certainly by 12, I wanted to be a designer - I don’t think I knew the word ‘engineer’ - in motor racing, and ideally, Formula 1. So I think as long as I continue to enjoy it and the team wants me then I’ll continue to do it for the moment and then we'll have to see in the future. I don't tend to plan too far forward.

The chief technical officer has built several cars for Red Bull, which has helped the team to win quite a few constructors championships. His designs for RB19 and this year’s RB20 have made the Austrian outfit the most dominating team on the grid. With his vague response to the speculations, Newey has left room open for interpretation.
