Christian Horner, the Red Bull team principal, will be awarded the prestigious CBE (Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) award at the upcoming British New Year’s Honors by the Royal Family. The title is given to someone who has done exemplary work over a year.

Christian Horner was at his stupendous best during the 2023 F1 season leading the charge of the mighty Red Bull F1 team. Horner led the team from the front, and it was because of his mentorship combined with the efforts of his team, that Red Bull was able to score an impressive 21 victories.

The CBE award is the highest-ranking Order of the British Empire award and it is then, followed by the OBE and MBE. This award only comes second to Knighthood/damehood. Considering this, Horner’s award is a huge thing not only for Red Bull but also for the whole F1 community.

The sport in recent years, has quite quickly become a global phenomenon and people have been recognizing this fact. In 2021, Lewis Hamilton was knighted at that year’s New Year’s Honours and after that, it is Horner’s upcoming award that will come the way of the F1.

Christian Horner played a huge role in Red Bull’s 2023 success

While Christian Horner is all set to be awarded the prestigious CBE award, it would not have come his way had he not led the Red Bull F1 team the way he did during the recently concluded F1 campaign. Firstly, his team did a brilliant job with the RB19 under his mentorship and then, he managed his drivers well during the 22 races.

Max Verstappen was at his usual best throughout the season but Horner had to put in immense work to keep the spirits of Sergio Perez up. The Mexican driver suffered a lot during the campaign and because of this, Horner had to deal with the tough job of keeping Perez focused.

All the work that Christian Horner has done for Red Bull this year has been recognized by the British Empire and his CBE award is much deserved. Without him, it could have proven tough for the Austrian outfit to maintain their supreme consistency throughout 2023.
