The Red Bull F1 team is operating at an extremely high level just like they did last year. They have already amassed four Grand Prix wins in the same number of rounds and seeing their might, Mercedes boss, Toto Wolff claimed that the 2024 season is already over.
After the Japanese GP, Wolff did not hesitate to admit that the ongoing campaign is done and dusted courtesy of the RB20 and Max Verstappen. However, the Red Bull boss, Christian Horner does not agree with this line of thinking.
Horner has openly bashed Wolff and admitted that there are still 20 races remaining on the 2024 calendar.
It’s very early to write off your year, there’s still 20 races to go. I’ve learned not to listen too much to what Toto says over the years.Christian Horner said in an interview with racingnews365
The Brit has made it quite clear that he’s not taking Toto Wolff’s verdict too seriously. He feels that there are a truckload of races left and thus, it wont be right to call the campaign done and dusted just after the first four rounds.
Christian Horner claims Max Verstapppen is in ‘great shape’
While Christian Horner has pretty much disregarded Toto Wolff‘s opinion on the 2024 F1 season, he has also taken the time to talk about his star driver, Max Verstappen. Horner has admitted that the 26-year-old is in great shape after his Suzuka triumph.
I think he’s in great shape. You know, he's changed trainer over the winter. He's fit, he's lean. And the car is in a great window, and you can hear the capacity, the spare capacity he has in the car… is very impressive. The form he had last year has just carried through.Christian Horner said in the same interview
Verstappen has been simply exceptional during the ongoing campaign. Moreover, his Australia disappointment was not because of his doing but because of an issue with the RB20. At the Chinese GP, he will once again be the favorite to dominate the proceedings throughout the three-day event.
