Christian Horner, the Red Bull team Team Principal, has, ahead of the Canadian GP, made it known that Max Verstappen is yet to secure the 2023 F1 World Championship fully. He has indicated that the Dutchman has already got one hand on the title but has still got a bit of work to do in order to become comfortable in his lead at the top.
Christian Horner, while dwelling on the prospects of Max Verstappen and Red Bull, said, “You will always get somebody say something like that,” he said. “Anything can happen. I think that both the championships are looking really healthy at the moment, our focus is now on Montreal, and that will be trying to get our 100th victory.”
“After that, it’ll be the home race in Austria, after that will be the other home race in Silverstone. It just rolls on, and you go from event to event and don’t allow yourself to be thinking too far down the line.” The 80-year-old feels it is important for Red Bull and Verstappen to take one race at a time and not overthink the future.
Moreover, Horner is pleased with the healthy lead that Max Verstappen and the Milton-Keynes-based team currently have in both Championships. As things stand, Verstappen currently has a buffer of 53 points over Sergio Perez, and on the other hand, Red Bull is 135 points ahead of its nearest rival, the Mercedes F1 team.

Christian Horner is pleased with the work ethic at Red Bull
While Helmut Marko has admitted that Red Bull and Max Verstappen have got a bit of work to do in the ongoing F1 Championship, he is extremely pleased with how the team has performed so far in the season. “We spent seven years trying to get back into a winning position, and losing hurts. I think that we’ve worked very hard to get into this position.”
“I think the whole team as a unit, and it’s not just Max, it’s the whole team is just operating at such a high level that we have a phenomenal car. We’ve got two great drivers and Max is just continuing to evolve as a driver. He is just becoming more and more polished, and the capacity that he has within the car is truly impressive.“
Christian Horner and Co. are enjoying their life on the Milton-Keynes-based team, and considering the performance level of the RB19 this year, it is very likely that Red Bull would win everything in yet another successful campaign for the outfit. How do you see the team performing at the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve?
