His words follow Sainz’s designation of Rafael Nadal as the “best” tennis player within less than a month after the latter’s record-setting 14th French Open triumph and 22nd Grand Slam victory.

“Congratulations @RafaelNadal !! The best tennis player in history!!”, the 27-year-old driver tweeted after Nadal defeated Casper Ruud, a first-time Grand Slam finalist, to alter French Open record. The first to congratulate his compatriot Spaniard when he smashed the Grand Slam record in Melbourne earlier this year was the Silverstone champion.
