The VisaCashAppRB crew had a disappointing end to the Saudi Arabian GP. Neither Yuki Tsunoda nor Daniel Ricciardo could score points down the race. Hence, the point-less streak for the team continues. The Australian driver opened up about his struggles during the race in the streets of Jeddah.

Daniel Ricciardo mentioned how the race was difficult and so was the entire race weekend. The Aussie also pointed towards the slow pit stops that were carried out by the crew. Additionally, the Honey Badger was not hesitant in accepting his mistake when he hit the curb at turn 1. This resulted in the 34-year-old spinning out which further dropped him down the pecking order.

It was a difficult race and in general a difficult weekend, very frustrating during the Safety Car, when almost everyone made the pit stops, we had a slow pit stop and a few laps from the end I made a mistake and I have hit the curb too hard at turn 1, causing a spin.

Regardless of the point-drought races recently, Daniel Ricciardo was optimistic about better results down the season. The Faenza-based team will work continuously on their form over the week’s break before racing back to Melbourne. Additionally, Ricciardo asserted how he couldn’t wait to get back to racing in his home race.

However, I remain optimistic, because I know that we have positive signs and we just have to perfect our package... I know the team cares as much as I do. I can't wait to go back to running in Melbourne, so let's get ready to do it

Yuki Tsunoda admitted making a few mistakes in Saudi Arabia

Yuki Tsunoda wasn’t hesitant in accepting his mistakes during the Saudi Arabian GP. The Japanese driver accepted how the race was difficult for him as well. Additionally, the 23-year-old highlighted how he let some cars pass by behind him while trying to overtake. On top of that, the VCARB challenger had grip and pace issues down the race, which further caused problems.

It was a difficult raceI made some mistakes and I let some cars pass behind me as I tried to overtake the car in front, and that's my fault. We had pace and grip problems, so it was difficult to drive.

However, there were some positive learnings from the point-less race from the VCARB crew. Tsunoda pointed towards the great qualification results. Additionally, the crew will continuously analyze the race and figure out the problems. The Japanese driver mentioned how he could improve as well in some aspects. Hence, the coming grand prix weekend might be met with some better results from the team.

The positive aspect is that we have made a good qualification and that we will analyze our race pace to understand why we have struggled so much. There are things I can improve today, so we will examine them and apply the teachings for the future

VCARB crew showcased optimism about the challenger during the initial weekend of the season. However, the team would showcase improvement down the season and finally score points. The team is currently preparing for the Australian GP and potentially score some crucial points down the race. VCARB is currently at zero points alongside other teams on the grid.
