Red Bull had unveiled their car last week at their Milton Keynes base. However, the RB20 was spotted at Silverstone for a shakedown test before the launch. Now, David Coulthard has revealed the crucial feedback given by Max Verstappen and Sergio Pérez after tasting the new machinery.

The former Scottish F1 driver had been a driver for the team in its early days and has been with the team since then. Coulthard is a Red Bull ambassador and had a chat with both drivers after the initial runs had been conducted. Following this, he revealed the details mentioned by the drivers about the car’s characteristics.

Just that it functions as you would expect in those conditions – no surprises. Even if you went out and thought the car was amazing in a shakedown, the only thing that matters is Saturday qualifying and ultimately Sunday race [at the first round] in Bahrain.

David Coulthard said as reported by Formula1.com.

The 52-year-old had given insights about what the drivers felt after feeling the car’s different characteristics. The drivers seemed pretty logical and felt that nothing was out of the ordinary as the car had developed and the team were happy with the change. The team unveiled a radically new car last week taking inspiration from last year’s Mercedes. The drivers had expected that the car would feel different by its looks but were amazed by its driving experience.

Who will be Red Bull’s biggest challengers according to David Coulthard?

Coulthard is an experienced driver and a regular member of the paddock due to his ties with the Austrian manufacturer. Recently, he revealed that there could be multiple challengers for the title in 2024 following the development race that had commenced behind closed doors.

I don’t have a crystal ball, but you’ve got to believe Ferrari had a strong car last year in terms of single-lap pace. If they’ve managed to improve on whatever it was that was making their race pace difficult then they are a real contender. Mercedes were making big strides at the end of the year.
David Coulthard said as reported by Formula1.com

Coulthard explained that Ferrari has the most potential among all of them if they sort out their pace on the race day. However, Mercedes and McLaren are also not behind and through the last season they had closed up the champions.

Red Bull would be preparing and getting ready for the upcoming season. Adrian Newey’s monster seems to be ahead of the field considering they had an upper hand last year. However, anybody could close up during the winter break and spoil the party in Austria.
