The Red Bull Formula 1 team dominated all its rivals during the 2023 F1 season. While Max Verstappen was at his sublime best during the campaign, the might of the RB19 was also one of the main reasons behind the team’s success. Former Red Bull driver, David Coulthard has taken it for a spin recently and admitted that he could have won a title with it.

David Coulthard drove for the Red Bull from 2005-2008 but despite spending multiple years, was never really able to mount up a title challenge. His best performance came in 2001 when he was able to finish the season in second place. However, since getting behind the wheel of the RB19, he feels that he could have won the title.

The Milton-Keynes-based team recently inducted a fun shoot at the Silverstone circuit where Coulthard had the opportunity to drive the RB19. He had a great time feeling the power of the car and while talking about his experience afterward, he told The Race;

Wow, what an experience! The RB19, is a car of its generation.

The ex-star driver also detailed the experience he had behind the championship-winning car and Looking at the reaction of the Brit, it is quite clear that he had a great time driving the RB19.

I have the opportunity to experience RB1 at the beginning of the journey right through to this car and undoubtedly, it's a fantastic world championship car. Maybe even could I have won the title in this car.

Red Bull’s RB19 operated in a league of its own during 2023

While David Coulthard has been left a bit awe-struck experiencing the might of the RB19, no one can really blame him. The car operated on a whole other playing field during the 2023 season and it was because of its lethal powers, that Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen were able to secure 21 wins out of the possible 22.

Verstappen racked up a highly impressive 19 Grand Prix wins whereas Perez, on the other hand, also chipped in with two despite his up-and-down season. Moreover, the Red Bull team was able to wrap up both championships quite early and it could not have been possible without the RB19.

Max Verstappen understands how good the RB19 was this year and thus, he has recently indicated that it would be difficult for him to repeat the 2023 heroics. Next year’s campaign is quite a few months away and considering this, it would be fascinating to see what kind of machinery Red Bull will come up with for 2024.
