Drive to Survive’s Co-executive producer Tom Rogers highlighted the reason for Patrick’s arrival on the show. Danica Patrick has become infamous for her views in recent years. Fans have even labeled her as a conspiracy junkie in the past. However, Rogers claimed that the show was interested in the racing perspective that the American brings to the show. The 41-year-old is perhaps the most popular female driver of the millennia and spent several seasons in NASCAR.
We attempt to focus on the stories of the sport and with Danica [Patrick], she brings a great perspective of … what it’s like to drive a racing car … and the challenges of the sport. The periphery to that is less important for us in the sense that she’s bringing a good contribution to the story.Tom Rogers told NY Post
Tom Rogers reckoned that Patrick would help explain the thought process of drivers to viewers due to her immense racing experience. As such, Danica Patrick’s addition to the show will certainly interest fans alongside the likes of Will Buxton. Although, some fans might be divided to see the 41-year-old in the sixth season of the show.
I think she does a really good job explaining to our viewers some of the thought processes that the drivers are going through. Her background as a driver provides a really interesting perspective that we maybe haven’t tapped into before.
