“During good times or bad, he is there for me,” Lewis Hamilton pens down heartfelt message for ‘Bono’

Lewis Hamilton has been associated with Peter Bonnogton for years and the Brit has recently praised his race engineer for everything that he has done for him.
Lewis Hamilton is grateful for the behind-the-scenes work and laughter that the duo has shared between themselves and feels he could not have asked for a better person to have his back.
Hamilton while appreciating the work that Bono has done for him has said, “You can’t tell my story without including Bono’s hard work and all the hours he’s put in. There are days when I need him to lift me up. There are days when I need to lift him up. During good times and bad, he’s there for me. Our communication.“
The 37-year-old has admitted that Bonnington has been with him through his ups and downs and has always played a huge part in keeping his spirits up.
The two share a very strong bond and it is visible every now and then when the two get on the radio during races. What makes their relationship so strong is the level of communication between the two.

Peter Bonnington is the senior race engineer at Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton is aware of how much importance ‘Bono’ holds within the team.
Hamilton has admitted that he is a crucial player at the Silver Arrows and has said, “What you hear on the radio and what you don’t hear in the garage, in engineering, and behind the scenes, makes a big difference. He is crucial to not only my success but the entire team’s. Forever grateful for my guy Bono, blessed to have him by my side.”
Lewis Hamilton is grateful that he has got a guy like Bonnington on the team and feels, that a lot of the credit for the success that Mercedes has enjoyed in recent history goes to him.

Mercedes was the dominant force during the turbo-hybrid era but ever since the dawn of new regulations in the sport, the Brackley-based team has fallen behind, and now it is going to be up to Bonnington and Co. to develop the current package as much as possible so that they would be able to challenge for the Championship during 2023.
