Esteban Ocon reveals there is ‘no point in racing’ for Alpine if they can’t keep up with Aston Martin’s mega progress
Esteban Ocon wants Alpine to match the pace of progress of the Aston Martin F1 team.

Esteban Ocon and Aston Martin
Esteban Ocon has been left very impressed with the performance output of Aston Martin’s AMR23. But on the other hand, he is not very pleased with what has happened at the Alpine F1 team. He is so unhappy with the state of things, that he has even gone on to indicate that if the French team is not able to make significant gains like Aston Martin, then there is no point in racing for the team.
Esteban Ocon, while talking about it, in detail, said, ” We have to think it is possible, otherwise, there’s no point racing. If you think about it, we finished the season in December, and when we restarted, it was the end of February, the beginning of March. So it’s about three, or four months. I don’t know if Aston would have been able to do that in-season, but if you take three or four months, it’s not the end of the season.“
“Aston Martin has shown, and fair play to them, that it is possible to make a big step if you find the right things. It is doable.” The Frenchman has never tried to shy away from applauding the mega job that Aston Martin has done with its car this year. However, despite this fact, Ocon has confidence in his team to deliver a strong car as well. He ardently believes that it is manageable to catch up to the Silverstone-based team.
After the first three races in 2023, Fernando Alonso, who left Alpine at the end of 2022, is enjoying his life at Aston Martin. He is currently on 45 points after three races, whereas his previous teammate, Ocon, only has 4 points for his efforts. This is mostly down to the performance difference between the AMR23 and A523.
Esteban Ocon is optimistic after seeing Alpine’s future F1 designs

The Alpine F1 team is going to do its absolute best in order to develop the A523 as much as possible during the ongoing campaign. But what motivates Ocon to stay with Alpine for an extended period of time is the team’s plans for the future seasons of the sport. While discussing the same, he added, “I’m at the factory at least one or two days a week.”
“I’ve been to the aero department, I’ve seen the future drawings, I’ve seen future concepts of the car, what we are going to bring to the car. And there are some really interesting ideas. I’m looking forward to seeing them being produced and seeing them on the car.” Esteban Ocon has made it known that some interesting things are taking place in the French team’s Enstone and Viry factories.
While Ocon is pleased to see some designs for the future F1 cars of the Alpine team, the immediate matter at hand for Ocon ad Co. is the 2023 F1 season. Alpine has so far proved to be the fifth fastest team on the grid, but considering that they have an aggressive development plan in place for the season, would they be able to catch the lights of Ferrari, Mercedes, and Aston Martin?
