“Even a safety car can’t stop him,” Max Verstappen puts on a flawless performance to hold off Carlos Sainz challenge; claims maiden Canadian GP victory

Max Verstappen
Max Verstappen just a few moments ago has come away from Canada with Grand Prix to his name on a Montreal track where F1 has raced after more than three years.
With today’s victory, Max Verstappen has now taken his tally of wins to an impressive 6 in the first 9 rounds of the 2022 Formula One season.
The Grand Prix was full of ups and downs for various drivers but Max was on it from the moment the lights fell in Montreal. Social media has been buzzing ever since the Dutchman’s triumph and Manager22 through their Twitter handle while applauding him wrote, “Even a safety car can’t stop Max. The nr 1.”
During the race, there were a few safety cars that could have put Max and Red Bull into making a wrong decision but the Milton Keynes team held firm in terms of their strategy, and in the end, all their efforts bore fruit in terms of Verstappen winning yet another Grand Prix.
Max Verstappen brought out his staunch defense in the last 20 laps

When there were around 20 laps left in the race, Yuki Tsunoda went into the barriers at turn 1 after coming out of the pits and that led to a safety car under which Ferrari brought Carlos Sainz into the pits to put him on fresher tires for the remaining laps.
However, Ferrari’s cheeky ploy didn’t work out as in the last few laps Max brought out his ultimate defense and made the car as wide as possible in order to keep the Spaniard at bay.
During their tussle, there were moments when Sainz was only half a second behind Verstappen, but the 2021 Champion did not lose his concentration and was able to perform at his absolute best which ultimately brought another massive haul of points for the Dutchman.

Next up on the F1 calendar is the British Grand Prix and now that Verstappen has increased his lead further on the lights of Sergio Perez and Charles Leclerc, it is not going to be easy for them to catch the pacey Verstappen given the kind of form he is in this season.
