“Everything is limited to the track,” Christian Horner relieved with Ferrari battle as compared to 2021’s scuffle with Mercedes

Christian Horner has shed light on how Red Bull’s 2022 battle with Ferrari has remained on track compared to the ugly scenes of last year between Red Bull and Mercedes.
Max Verstappen is again leading the team’s charge in the Drivers Championship and while they missed out on the Constructors in 2021, it is looking like a real possibility this year.
The Maranello-based Ferrari team has taken the mantle of being the challengers this season and Red Bull’s confrontation with them did not get off the right foot when they were struggling after the first three rounds of the season.
However, the Austrian team after 13 rounds into the season has managed to make a solid comeback and is now ahead of Ferrari in both the Championships.
Red Bull has a 97-point lead over the Prancing Horse in the Constructors whereas Max Verstappen is sitting pretty at the top of the Drivers Championship with 80 points lead over Charles Leclerc.
Last year, the paddock area was a toxic environment because of the 2021 fight between Red Bull and Mercedes, however, this year things are much calmer with Ferrari as the opponent.

Christian Horner’s view on Red Bull’s fight with Ferrari in 2022
The top two teams this year have been very respectful of each other and most often than not have been on the same side while discussing controversial issues.
Moreover, Horner while discussing Red Bull and Ferrari has said, “I think Ferrari is an iconic brand, with them everything is limited to what happens on the track and it’s very rewarding to duel with Ferrari. The races between Charles [Leclerc] and Max have been fantastic this year and we hope they continue.”
Christian Horner has showered the Ferrari team with high praise for the fight that they have shown this year and hopes that it is going to continue when the F1 carnival returns on the 26th of August.
The way Horner has talked about Ferrari, he has taken a slight dig at Mercedes for the off-track altercations that took place last year, the Brackley-based team is getting better and better this season and with 5 consecutive podiums in the bag for Lewis Hamilton, it will be interesting to see what the team has done in the off-time to further close the gap to the front running teams.
