Michael Schumacher, the former 7-time F1 world champion, is considered one of the best to step foot into the sport. During his time, he sparkled his magic on the track like no other, but his ex-teammate, Johnny Herbert has recently talked about his fun/wild side.

During his racing days, Michael Schumacher only meant serious business whenever he used to take an F1 car for a spin. He used to operate in a league of his own and was extremely fierce regarding wheel-to-wheel racing.

However, while he was very serious most of the time, Jonny Herbert has taken the time shed light on his fun side. He added, as reported by bettingsites.co.uk:

We all know there was the massively serious side to him totally driven by getting the best out of himself. But there was that end-of-season downtime, the relaxed moment we always had after Adelaide. He would enjoy the alcohol treats that were available and we all did. We could only do it once a year.

Looking at the reaction of Herbert, it seems that during the down-time from the pinnacle of motor racing, Schumacher was a completely different person. To blow of steam, Schumacher used to party hard with friends and fellow drivers.

Michael Schumacher is equal to Lewis Hamilton in terms of world titles won

While Herbert has taken the time to talk about the prolific German’s fun side, the latter is to date the joint F1 world championships record holder. Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton are both tied on seven titles each.

Michael Schumacher hung his racing boots at the end of the 2012 season after which, he had that horrific skiing accident in 2013. While he has since been in a medically-induced coma, his tremdous record is still intact.

Hamilton at the age of 39, is still making his trade at the pinnacle of motor racing, but since the dawn of the new F1 regulations, things have not panned out in his favor. Considering this, it would be fascinating to see whether he would be able to break the seven world titles record in the upcoming years.
