The Middle East has erupted into conflict once again. Israel has launched a massive offense on the West Bank and the Gaza Strip in response to Hamas’ invasion on October 7th. The region is witnessing a staggering loss of life on both sides. It was believed that the Formula 1 season finale in Abu Dhabi might be canceled due to safety concerns. However, F1 has responded to these rumors.

The United Kingdom and other European nations have raised the risk of terrorism in the United Arab Emirates since the conflict began. As such, it was rumored that the sport might be forced to miss the last race of the season. However, an F1 spokesperson has confirmed that the Abu Dhabi GP will go ahead.

As per RacingNews365, Formula One Management has informed the teams regarding its position. The sport has made it clear that the race will go ahead regardless of the conflict between Israel and Palestine. It is expected that the UAE government will provide adequate security to ensure that no incidents hamper the race.

Previously, the 2011 Bahrain GP was canceled due to civil unrest in the country. More recently, the 2022 Saudi Arabian GP was under threat of being canceled after missiles struck an oil depot near the Jeddah Street Circuit.

Thousands have died in Israel and Palestine over the past few weeks

The conflict between the two countries has caused colossal damage. As per the latest estimates, over 8,800 people have died in Gaza since October 7th with a significant number of kids losing their lives. On the other hand, Israel has lost around 1,400 people. F1’s Lewis Hamilton has spoken for the people of Palestine who are suffering in this conflict

Unfortunately, this conflict has taken an inhumane turn with both sides killing civilians. Hamas had invaded the Jewish state in a ruthless endeavor. In response, Israel has stopped the supply of electricity, water, and food to the 2 million inhabitants in Gaza. Certainly, Palestinians and Israelis are facing a terrible situation with the International community and the UN failing to stop this war.

However, people across the world would be hoping that this conflict is resolved soon to prevent more loss of life. Countries and governments must work together to put an end to this inhumane war.
