F1 demands clubs to pay a whopping $2.25 million not to block their Las Vegas GP view
F1 is determined to rack up as much revenue as possible from the 2023 Las Vegas GP.
Las Vegas GP
F1 stock has been on a massive rise in recent years and has taken the sporting world by storm. Las Vegas is all set to host its first F1 race this year, and amidst the ever-growing popularity of the sport, F1 has started demanding huge sums of money from the bars and casinos that are around the racing strip.
As per The New York Post, it is the common consensus that the hierarchy of the pinnacle of motor racing is charging whopping sums of money not to block the views of the circuit. Around the Las Vegas F1 track, there are several clubs, restaurants, bars, etc., which provide a view of the F1 circuit.
The F1 race track is at the heart of the sin city, and F1 is looking to make extra bucks at the expense of everything that provides a view of the circuit. It is believed that the sport is charging $1,500 per head for licensing rights and a huge $2.25 million for a restaurant or club with 1,500 seats, regardless of whether the restaurant is packed to capacity or not.
Moreover, if the various restaurants, clubs, and bars refuse to pay the sums asked by Formula 1, then the hierarchy of the sport would make sure that the views of race are completely blocked. They are gonna do that by putting in place specific obstructions like barricades, stands, and light stanchions.
The Las Vegas Grand Prix is shaping up to be a must-see event
While F1 is trying to rack up as much money as possible from November’s Las Vegas GP, the fact cannot be ignored that the hype around the race is at an all-time high. Las Vegas is already a hotspot for people from all over the world, and with an F1 race set to take place there, the place will swarm up with people during November.
Moreover, as per the characteristics of the rack, it will support fast racing as the circuit is mostly comprised of long straights and a few tight corners. Las Vegas is a place that is full of glitz and glam, and having the F1 cars and drivers doing their thing at the circuit would create a surreal experience.
Considering this, it is quite understandable why F1 wants to make extra money from this year’s Las Vegas GP. It is the first-ever F1 event at the venue and the sport’s hierarchy wants to rack up as much as possible from the event. One additional reason for the extra charges could be to compensate for the massive sums of money that have already been invested in the project.
