“F1 is beyond a joke,” Fans left furious after red flag further delays start to Monaco Grand Prix
Monaco Grand Prix
The Monaco Grand Prix has not even started but the F1 paddocks have broken into a pandemonium, thanks to the unpredictable weather. Throughout the weekend full of press conferences, interviews, celebrity visits, free practices, and the Qualifying Session, the fans have been patiently waiting for the Main Race on Sunday as it is the event that matters the most. But just before the race was about to start, it got delayed due to the weather.
Minutes before the lights were about to go out to announce the start of the 2022 Monaco Grand Prix, the FIA, headed by Eduardo Freitas, took the decision to halt the start.
The fans who had waited for so long to witness the Monaco Grand Prix were clueless as to the reason why this decision was taken, and even the drivers did not know.
Fans get angry as the FIA delay the Monaco race even further
The garages, as described by the Sky F1 commentators, looked like the “Tokyo Central Station at 8:00 pm” because the garage engineers were running here and there as they had to change the tyres on their cars to the wets. And amidst all this chaos, another announcement was made–the red flag was called and the race was delayed further.

The fans were beyond frustrated with the constant delay to the start of the race, and they took it out on social media as F1 Twitter exploded with fans criticising the FIA for halting the race.
While waiting for the Monaco Grand Prix to kick off, it was reported that the FIA had reports of an approaching shower that they had to consider. In Formula 1, the drivers’ safety is of prime concern for the F1 Authority. Seeing the probability of the rain getting too strong for racing within the first few laps, the Race Director called for a halt so that the drivers had a chance to get changed tyres before going on the tracks.
