Formula 1 is a global sport that attracts celebrities from around the world. The Miami GP was no different; multiple stars graced the grid with their presence, including the likes of Vin Diesel and even Elon Musk. One such celeb was the famous actor Tom Cruise. It seems that Cruise wanted to have a rather quiet walk on the grid as Martin Brundle was instructed not to approach the 60-year-old.

Martin Brundle is an iconic F1 presenter. It has become a tradition for the Briton to interview the attendees on the grid before the start of every GP. However, it seems that Tom Cruise was not in the mood to reunite with the 63-year-old. The two had an awkward chat at the British GP last season. Brundle spoke about being told not to talk with Cruise at the Miami GP.

The Sky F1 Presenter said, “I saw Tom Cruise walking the grid, who I’ve been told specifically we can’t talk to.” Brundle even joked that such instructions were not enough for the 63-year-old. He continued, “But that’s never stopped us before.” The Briton even described how many think of themselves as famous as they get to be on the grid before a GP. Martin Brundle stated, “Lots of famous people here… and lots of people who think they’re famous.”

The 63-year-old had talked briefly with Cruise at Silverstone last year. The F1 presenter had to make his way through the tight security of the American actor. Although it seems that would remain the last interaction between Brundle and Tom Cruise for now. Previously, Martin had stated his views over such grid walks as the Briton tries to never them back.

Brundle said, “There’s a reason why I’ve never watched back an F1 gridwalk in a quarter of a century of doing them.” The F1 presenter was surprised that his grid walks had become a stable part of his career. Even though the 63-year-old is far from happy on such occasions. Martin Brundle concluded, “You have no idea how much I dislike doing them but somehow those crazy moments have defined my professional career. Oh well, that’s the way it is.”

Thus, Tom Cruise had given strict instructions not to be disturbed by Martin Brundle at the Miami GP. Brundle is known to be ruthless when interviewing big stars about their F1 knowledge. Subsequently, many might feel intimidated by the 63-year-old. However, it remains to be seen if Cruise will change his mind about the F1 presenter in the future.
