Ahead of the British Grand Prix, the highly anticipated Lewis Hamilton’s and Brad Pitt’s F1-inspired movie ‘Apex’ took a step forward as the first images of the car, set to be driven by Brad Pitt’s character, were revealed. The unique black and gold combined livery of the F2-inspired car instantly caught the eye, setting Twitter ablaze with an explosion of reactions and comparisons.

As filming began at Silverstone, fans were treated to a visual feast as the fictional ‘APXGP’ team, helmed by Brad Pitt‘s character Sonny Hayes, showcased their garage nestled between the Mercedes and Ferrari garages. The unique positioning of the Apex’s team base set the stage for a weekend filled with on-track excitement and behind-the-scenes glimpses of the film, which is being produced by Lewis Hamilton.

The car’s design, with its striking black and gold colour scheme, drew immediate parallels and evoked memories of F1 history. Many fans couldn’t help but note the resemblance to the iconic Lotus 97T and 98T, famously driven by the legendary Ayrton Senna. Others found similarities to the 2018 Haas livery during its partnership with Rich Energy. The movie, an Apple Original film, features the fictional team named “APXGP.”

The film centers around the character of Sonny Hayes, played by Brad Pitt, a veteran in the world of Formula One racing. Returning to the circuit as a coach, Hayes takes on the task of guiding his talented protégé, played by Damson Idris, to new heights of success. Joseph Kosinski, renowned for his work on Top Gun: Maverick, takes the director’s seat for the highly anticipated film Apex, set to hit cinema screens in late 2024 or early 2025.
