Kevin Magnussen has gone through a roller coaster of emotions in his journey in F1. It’s been a complete turnaround for the Dane who was dropped by Haas back in 2020. The decision came in the wake of Haas being able to secure a total of 3 points which meant that major decisions needed to be taken in order to steady the ship. Guenther Steiner dropped both Kevin Magnussen and Romain Grosjean to be replaced by Nikita Mazepin and Mick Schumacher.

But, things went from bad to worse for Haas as both drivers just couldn’t hit the ground running as Haas failed to register a single point on the board and finished last. Guenther Steiner had a huge decision to make a catastrophic season. The Haas Team Principal decided to drop Nikita Mazepin after Russia declared war on Ukraine. Haas wanted to cut all ties with oligarch, Dmitry Mazepin, who has close ties with Russian President, Vladimir Putin.

This meant that K-Mag made a return to Haas for yet another dance. Ever since his return, the Dane has looked like a rejuvenated figure and the performances back those claims too. The American team has been off to one of the best starts to the season with 15 points on the score sheet already. All of these 15 points can be attributed Kevin Magnussen who has driven beautifully.

Kevin Magnussen revealed the difference in mindset ever since his return to F1. The Dane in of his interviews said, “I feel different to what I did in my first round of Formula 1. I’m just very relaxed about everything. I’m in a different place, that’s for sure.”

“I wasn’t slagging F1 off, I just said my life was good. Which it was. And I think a big part of that was becoming a father.”

“I’ve been fortunate to experience some really cool things, yet becoming a parent still topped every feeling that I’ve ever had,” as reported by race.

Haas has to be thankful to Kevin Magnussen, who has been absolutely brilliant throughout this season despite have no preseason. The round 2 for K-Mag has been off to a flyer. Let’s hope he can stretch this honeymoon period for as long as possible.
