The F1 2023 season turned out to be a mediocre affair for Scuderia Ferrari who had set out on a journey to go back to their winning ways. The Maranello outfit has seldom tasted success in the past few years in Formula 1 as their last World Constructors’ Championship win happened way back in 2008 and the last time a Ferrari racer got the Formula 1 Drivers’ Championship was in 2007 when Kimi Raikkonen grabbed the title. Thus, over 16 years have passed since the Tifosis rejoiced about the results of their favorite team and it is high time they see some good performances now.

In the 2022 season, Ferrari seemed competent enough to aim for the World Championship as Charles Leclerc clocked some victories in Bahrain and Australia and he also got several pole positions. But some mistakes down the line saw the Scuderia end up behind Red Bull and they finished 2nd on the Standings. Their existing Team Principal Mattia Binotto stepped down from his role following his failure to lead the squad to a Championship win, and Frederic Vasseur took his place. However, in his debut season as the Scuderia Boss, Fred has not been able to impress with results either.

Now, the fans have presumed the 2024 season is going to be all about Ferrari’s redemption arc. They will have to deliver great results to live up to the name of the oldest and most successful F1 team in the history of the sport. And for that, they have recently revealed the name of their next season’s challenger as ‘SF24’. Having witnessed the failure of previous SF (Scuderia Ferrari) models such as the SF1000 and the SF23, fans are not too optimistic about the Italian manufacturer’s latest racecar.

Fans pray for a competent car from Ferrari after several seasons of utter disappointment

Ferrari has been failing to perform at a level that their fans would have liked in the recent Formula 1 season. In 2020, when they released the SF2000 challenger, the team dropped down to sixth on the grid. Their racers at that time, Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc, could only grab three podiums in total.

As that year was disastrous for the Scuderia, fans are wary of the SF model of cars that they manufacture. In 2023, they saw the SF23 fail to match up to Mercedes as Ferrari was beaten to the second spot in the Championship by just 3 points. And now, the team has revealed their 2024 car will be named SF24.

Thus, the fans have reacted to the news of the naming of Ferrari’s latest racecar with these comments:

In other news, Charles Leclerc has recently signed a multi-year contract extension with Ferrari. The Monegasque’s deal was announced by the team without mentioning any end date it. Thus, the fans have considered that Charles might just have agreed to Ferrari’s first-ever indefinite contract in history.
