The Formula 1 2024 season will soon be underway with two testing days already being concluded. Lewis Hamilton‘s shock move to Ferrari in 2025 has led to Carlos Sainz losing his seat at Maranello. The Spaniard’s future in the sport remains uncertain for now. Amidst these developments, observers spotted Carlos Sainz Sr. having a chat with the top spots of Red Bull.
Notably, Red Bull currently supports Carlos Sainz Sr. as a Rally driver, and his son Carlos Sainz was a Red Bull junior driver back in 2015 alongside Max Verstappen. Additionally, the 61-year-old emerged victorious at the 2024 Dakar. Hence, this could have been the reason behind this surprise meetup between the four people present at the table. Christian Horner, Adrian Newey, Helmut Marko, and the Spaniard were amongst the people present at the table enjoying a chat.
The exact details of this meetup between the people haven’t been revealed to the public. However, one can assume that Sainz’s father met up with the top people at Red Bull to potentially discuss the Spaniard’s move to Red Bull from 2025 onwards. The most plausible reason behind the meeting could be that Carlos Sainz Sr. was chatting about his recent Dakar Rally success and catching up with his old mates.

Fans raise suspicions over the meetup between Carlos Sainz Sr. and Red Bull leaders
In a recent tweet on X, multiple fans talked about the meetup between the people ahead of the commencement of the 2024 season. A majority of the fans pointed towards Carlos Sainz Jr’s possible move to Red Bull following Sergio Perez‘s dismissal from the team the following season. Apart from this, one fan mentioned that the reason for the meet could simply be because Sainz already driving for Red Bull in the Dakar Rally.
One fan questioned the possibilities of Checo to Mercedes and Sainz to Red Bull from the 2025 season, as the drivers’ contracts will run out by the end of this season. However, one fan talked about how Carlos Sainz would “never end up at Red Bull“ despite a potential opening in the team by 2025. Another fan added that Sr. would be the new team principal of Milton Keynes following allegations against Christian Horner.
That is because Sainz is already driving for Red Bull.

Sainz would never end at Red Bull believe me, he has no chance to beat verstappen on the same & he knows very well! Remember they were teammates in 2016 so.
