“Gen Z F1 driver” – Fans excited as Fernando Alonso joins the world of TikTok

Fernando Alonso is a veteran of Formula 1. Alonso is still hungry to win in F1 again after a hiatus from the top step for multiple years. Additionally, Fernando has often expressed himself to be faster in the present than during his debut in the sport. Subsequently, the oldest driver on the current grid continues to battle with the younger generations in every race.

Now, it seems that Fernando Alonso will compete against the newer F1 talent on another social media platform. Alonso has finally made an account on the popular social media app, TikTok. The Spanish driver will hopefully provide fans with a new perspective on his life through TikTok. F1 presently has a large fanbase on social media and thus, this allows Alonso to capitalize on this aspect.

Coincidentally, TikTok is a partner of the Aston Martin F1 team. Thus, Fernando Alonso may have been incentivized to join the platform in accordance with the team’s sponsorship terms. Nonetheless, Alonso will slowly delve into TikTok. The Aston Martin driver already has over 138,000 followers on the platform. Notably, Sebastian Vettel never made a TikTok account despite being an Aston Martin driver in the previous two years.

Fans are happy to see Fernando Alonso on TikTok

Fans on Reddit were glad to see Fernando Alonso join the social media platform. One user wrote, “How do you do, fellow kids?” A take on the oldest F1 driver trying on the new advancements in technology. Correspondingly, another fan replied, “Alonso has a Discord account too. Gen Z F1 driver, Fernando Alonso.” Again, a reference to how Fernando has proved that age is just a number.

On the other hand, one fan mentioned the probable reason for Fernando Alonso’s decision to make a TikTok account. The fan also hinted at the tough times for the social media platform. The fan commented, “Probably because Aston Martin is sponsored by TikTok. We’ll see how long this last until TikTok gets banned.” While another user now looks forward to making a TikTok account. The user said, “only thing that’s ever tempted me to get tiktok.” Multiple TikTok influencers presently follow F1.

Thus, Fernando Alonso’s new TikTok account seems to be accepted widely by fans. Although, it remains to be seen how involved Alonso really is with the platform. As the Aston Martin PR department might actually use Fernando’s account behind the scenes. Though, whatever might be the outcome, fans are happy to see what the Spanish driver’s account will showcase in the time to come.
