The season opener in Bahrain came off to a rocky end for VisaCashAppRB and its drivers. The qualifying session ended with a Q2 elimination for Daniel Ricciardo and Yuki Tsunoda. However, down the race, Tsunoda was asked to swap positions with Ricciardo due to him being on a fresher and better compound. The Japanese driver then laid out his anger from the unexpected call on the team radio.

The move was made to enable any chances of competition with Haas’ Kevin Magnussen in front at 12th position. Additionally, Ricciardo’s softs were faster than Tsunoda’s hards towards the end of the race. However, following the move, The honey badger was unable to occupy the 12th spot and finished the race in P13, followed by Tsunoda in P14. Hence, this further angered the 23-year-old.

After the drivers crossed the chequered flag, Tsunoda presented his anger in a rather uncertain way. The Japanese driver potentially tried to collide with Ricciardo. The 23-year-old locked up coming into a turn and went straight. This move was very risky as the Australian might have crashed into the driver and caused problems for the challenger. However, Daniel Ricciardo avoided the locked-up driver and was cleared of the danger.
