The 2023 United States Grand Prix ended a few hours ago, but despite this, the event has been all over the web because of the disqualification of Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc. In the case of the former, it was found that the plank underneath his W14 had worn too thin during the 56-lap race and did not meet the FIA’s minimum threshold.
Lewis Hamilton ran a terrific race throughout the event and was, at one point, in contention to score Mercedes’s first victory of the 2023 F1 season. However, while he managed a second-place finish, this was thrown out of the window courtesy of the FIA deeming Hamilton’s car illegal at the Circuit of the Americas.
Since the news reveal, the fans have been unable to hold their horses and have gone on X to share their reactions with the world. The pinnacle of motor racing has some of the most die-hard fans across all motorsports, and considering the aftermath of the US GP, the fans are pretty perplexed and have found it hard to wrap their heads around it.
Fans’ reactions to Lewis Hamilton’s US GP disqualification
Looking at the fans’ reactions, it is quite clear that while some are extremely disappointed, a group of fans have blasted Hamilton and Co. for their illegal car. They believe what they did was wrong and have indicated that they are not surprised with the FIA deciding to disqualify the Brit from the event.
Pain for both Charles and Lewis fans ??? All this exciting race for nothing ?

Lewis Hamilton and Co. will take time to bounce back from their Austin disappointment
While the fans have come up with mixed reactions to FIA’s ruling around Lewis Hamilton’s US GP exploits, the Brit and the whole Mercedes team will now take their sweet time in bouncing back from the recent disappointment. Hamilton even celebrated his second-place finish on the podium alongside Max Verstappen.
Moreover, what has rubbed more salt into the wounds of the German team is that Hamilton has lost out on the solid points he scored at the end of the race at the COTA circuit. This has led to Red Bull driver Sergio Perez extending his lead over the Brit in their tussle for second place in the 2023 Driver’s Championship.

While the morale is at an all-time low in the Mercedes camp, they can’t afford to spend too much time dwelling on the past. The next F1 race is this week, and considering this, Lewis Hamilton and Co. would have to pull themselves up and try their best to show up in the right mindset for the upcoming Mexican Grand Prix.
