Max Verstappen is presently the one to beat in Formula 1. The Dutchman utterly dominated the championship in 2022, bagging a record-breaking 15 wins. Subsequently, the Verstappen name has become more than just the F1 driver. As the 25-year-old spreads his brand in racing series outside of the pinnacle of motorsport in 2023.
Recently, the Red Bull driver signed a deal to sponsor Ferrari Emil Fray at the GT World Sprint championship. Consequently, The Ferrari cars are painted in Red Bull colors with Verstappen.com written boldly on the car’s sides. Max Verstappen‘s latest sponsorship was revealed to fans after racing driver, Albert Costa Balboa posted the livery on social media.
However, this incident can certainly be seen as ironic by many. Ferrari and Red Bull are arch-rivals in F1 as the two go head-to-head to fight for the Formula 1 world championship. The energy drinks team has sponsored Ferrari racing cars in the past. Alex Albon and Liam Lawson raced in the German DTM series in Ferrari GT cars. Notably, this is the first time, Max Verstappen’s name is on a Ferrari race car.

“Ferrari and Red Bull F1 teams are going to merge” – Fans react to Max Verstappen’s latest sponsorship deal
After this image surfaced on Reddit, fans were excited to see the Dutchman’s name on the Ferrari. One user mentioned the irony of an F1 driver sponsoring a race team. The user commented, “Well, well, well. Look how the turntables…” Additionally, another fan called for Red Bull and Ferrari to join forces after this incident. The fan replied, “Yeah Ferrari and Red Bull F1 teams are going to merge.”
Similarly, one fan was quick to point out Max Verstappen finally being with Ferrari in a championship. The fan wrote, “Finally max and redbull in a Ferrari, this is the year.” Subsequently, another user highlighted the fact that a Ferrari GT car wore Red Bull colors. The user stated their disapproval and said, “A Ferrari with a Red Bull Livery just feels so wrong.”
Fans have been caught off-guard by Max Verstappen’s latest endeavor. The 25-year-old seems to have big ambitions outside of Formula 1 as he tries to solidify his brand globally. Red Bull has supported Max’s racing career for years, and the energy-drinks giant seems interested in carrying this support outside of racing as well.
