Ferrari has not won a championship of any kind since winning the Constructors’ Title in 2008, despite multiple title bids since then. The Italian team failed to find the top of the standings for 15 years, their most recent bid being in 2022 with Charles Leclerc leading the unsuccessful charge.

The man who led Ferrari to their last championship in 2008, Felipe Massa, has pessimistic views for the future of the Scuderia as well. Massa, who finished runner-up to Lewis Hamilton in 2008, believes that Ferrari has lacked performance in recent years and has a long way to go to fight for the championship another time.

It's difficult to understand whether Ferrari will be able to be competitive next season, probably some technical changes are still missing to make everything work as best as possible.
Felipe Massa said, as reported by formulapassion.it

Felipe Massa is currently seeking Ferrari’s support in the legal battle with the FIA he is involved in. The Brazilian is set on receiving restitution for his loss of the 2008 World Championship that he deems unfair due to the Singapore Grand Prix crashgate scandal of that year earning Hamilton points.

Carlos Sainz advises Ferrari over 2024 challenger

Ferrari had a disappointing season in 2023, coming into the year as runner-ups hoping to make their mark with a championship bid. However, with unprecedented dominance from Red Bull, Ferrari failed to make anything of the year, even losing second place to Mercedes.

With new car development coming in 2024, Carlos Sainz has some words of advice for his team. Sainz believes that instead of working on the already strong parts of the car, Ferrari should be focusing on the rest of it to give them better performance all year round.

The car has very, very strong points. I think if we want to have a year-round car, maybe we have to give up some of these features to make sure we are fast everywhere, especially in the race.

Carlos Sainz was the only driver other than Red Bull to win a race in 2023, taking his second career victory at the Singapore Grand Prix. The Spaniard is currently negotiating a contract with his team beyond 2024 when his contract ends.
