Fernando Alonso claims winning third F1 title ‘not the biggest priority’
Fernando Alonso insisted that his main focus is to improve Aston Martin.

Fernando Alonso is a two-time world champion. The Spanish driver is one of the best drivers in the sport’s recent history. The 42-year-old has impressed the paddock with his results at Aston Martin, with multiple podium finishes in the first few rounds this year. However, winning another championship is not the main target right now for Alonso.
The Spanish driver mentioned that he would be willing to claim his third-world title. However, the 42-year-old was not fixated on triumphing in F1 once again, as Alonso was focusing on helping Aston Martin become a top team in the sport. He said, as quoted by Symotor, “I would love to win the World Cup again, but it’s not the biggest priority. I’m enjoying the process with Aston Martin of becoming future contenders.”
Fernando Alonso mentioned that he has had a great time at Silverstone this season. The 42-year-old is trying to give his feedback to Aston Martin as the British team aims to fight for the championship in the future. Alonso explained, “I’m enjoying the time with the team, how we’re growing in different areas.” The Aston Martin driver is currently third in the standings.

Fernando Alonso wants to win Dakar
The 42-year-old has spent time racing in categories other than Formula 1. Alonso won the prestigious 24 hours of Le Mans in 2019 Toyota. While also making multiple attempts at winning the Indy 500. Although now, Fernando Alonso wants to win the iconic Dakar Rally, where he has competed with Toyota in the past as well.
Although, the Spanish driver will need to improve his performance at the challenging event if he wants to emerge victorious. Fernando Alonso stated, “If I win in endurance, in Formula 1 and in Dakar, that would be something very special for me as a driver and as a person. That is what is on my mind at the moment.”
Thus, Fernando Alonso has clarified that winning another F1 championship is not the main focus for the Aston Martin driver. The Spanish driver is happy with his current stint at the Silverstone-based team. The 42-year-old will be looking to continue his thrilling season this year. Although, it remains to be seen if Alonso can improve his results in the rest of the season.
