Fernando Alonso is regarded as one of the best drivers in Formula 1. His move to Aston Martin for the 2023 season proved to be one of the best decisions he’s ever made. This is not the only transformative event that happened to him this year, as the Spaniard announced his break up with long-term partner Andrea Schlager in April. Since their split up, Alonso’s dating life has been a hot topic. He was even linked to the iconic artist Taylor Swift.

Rumors of Fernando Alonso dating the pop queen Taylor Swift emerged two months back. While neither party confirmed or denied the alleged news, it was understood that it was just a rumor and nothing more. Recently it has come to light that the double world champion is reportedly dating the Spanish sports journalist Melissa Jimenez. She is an F1 commentator who works for DAZN. This puts the Alonso-Swift rumors to bed.

The Spanish media Hola! reported that the Spanish F1 broadcaster Melissa Jimenez and Alonso are dating. As per the reports, the duo have been together for two months. Though they have not confirmed their relationship yet, they have been photographed together recently and spotted together often.

Before Monaco Grand Prix, an image of Alonso at the Monaco Oceanographic Institute went viral on social media. In the background, Jimenez and her daughter were spotted. This added to the rumors of their budding romance.

Melissa Jimenez is the daughter of a MotoGP engineer, Antonio. Hence, she visited the MotoGP paddock regularly and wanted a career in the same environment. After her education, Jimenez began working with the Spanish TV station Marca. She then moved to Italy to work for Sky Italia in the MotoGP field and was also a press officer for Forward Racing, a Moto2 team. 

In 2013 Jimenez joined the Mediaset motorcycle broadcasting team in Spain as a commentator. The 35-year-old joined DAZN as a broadcaster in 2022. In her personal life, she was married to FC Barcelona footballer Marc Bartra. They have three children together and split up in 2021. Before the dating rumors with Alonso emerged, Jimenez was with comedian Dani Martinez, but they called it quits.

Though the Aston Martin driver’s link-up with Taylor Swift was short-lived, it will not be forgotten. The double-world champion is now allegedly dating Jimenez and seems successful both on and off the track. However, Fernando Alonso and Jimenez have not officially confirmed their relationship despite their outings on several occasions.
