With Red Bull, Mercedes and Renault yet to announce any kind of Power Unit upgrades, Ferrari have stepped up to be the first team to announce that they will go for a PU upgrade. In hopes of improving their declining performance in the remaining nine races of this season, Ferrari F1 team principal Mattia Binotto announced that the scuderia are bringing in changes to their hybrid Power Units.

Ferrari had three Power Unit-related failures throughout the season, two of them claiming Leclerc as the victim. One during the Spanish Grand Prix and the other during the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Carlos Sainz also suffered a failure at the Austrian Grand Prix when his engine burst up into flames. As a result of all this, both of the drivers have lost out on an immense number of points and have fallen behind to the Reigning F1 champion Max Verstappen. Whether the new Power Unit will be a sign of better things to come, will only be known once the Maranello outfit let out their prancing horses onto the track at the Belgian Grand Prix.
