The Ferrari Formula 1 team has one of the best driver pairings on the current grid. Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz can go up against anyone in the sport and ahead of next year’s campaign, the Italian outfit has confirmed that both of them will have equal status on the team.
During the 2023 Formula 1 season, question marks were raised on several occasions as to who was Ferrari’s number 1 driver. While they never openly commented on the topic, there was a growing belief that they had deemed the Monegasque, Charles Leclerc as their priority driver.

However, to stay away from controversy as much as possible, Fred Vasseur has confirmed that both his drivers will have equal status next year. While shedding light on the same, he confirmed that there will be equal treatment for
The two drivers are fully involved in the development. They were also quite happy but this is not an indication of how the season will go.
Looking at the reaction of the Ferrari boss, it is quite clear that he wants to show both Leclerc and Sainz that there is no number-one driver on the team. Moreover, next year, the decisions will be made based on race situations and not based on any special preference.
Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz are yet to sign contract extensions at Ferrari
While Fred Vasseur has assured both his drivers of having an equal status at Ferrari next year, the duo are yet to sign contract extensions with the team. Leclerc and Sainz’s current deals with the team are going to come to a close at the end of the 2024 Formula 1 season.
