“We will come back stronger tomorrow,” Charles Leclerc determined to turn it around following defeat in Imola Sprint

For Charles Leclerc, the Qualifying for the first Sprint Race of the all-new 2022 season did not go as well as he would have imagined it. Ferrari’s SF-75 has had the upper hand on all of its rivals because of the race pace that it has got. But still, with the new updates that Red Bull added to their car ahead of the Imola Grand Prix, Max Verstappen managed to clinch the pole position in the Qualifying in his RB-18.
But Charles Leclerc did not let Friday’s Qualifying session get to him. He knew he could easily attain the P1 position with the right tyre strategy and some good race pace. At the very start of the Sprint Race on Saturday, Leclerc swiftly moved past Verstappen’s Red Bull just when the lights went off. And then, for the first 100km of the Sprint, Leclerc maintained the lead as his Tifosi cheered for him and his Ferrari to win the race.
But the speed of the Ferrari did not last long as the SF-75’s tyres gave out towards the end of the race. And while he was slowly gaining on Leclerc, Max Verstappen was only biding his time before he could attack the Scuderia car and take back his P1 position. In the second-last lap of the race, Verstappen managed to achieve the feat and he went on to win the first Sprint Race of the year.
“We struggled with the tyres at the end” : Charles Leclerc knows where Ferrari went wrong in Imola Sprint Race

Charles Leclerc has shown amazing talent in the first three races of the 2022 season of Formula 1. As the Championship leader, the Monegasque has some high expectations to live up to, especially since he is a Ferrari driver racing in Italy. As the Tifosi screamed with joy, Leclerc soared to the top of the grid at the very beginning of the Sprint Race.
But Max Verstappen is not one to give up. He is desperate for some Championship points after his repeated car problems have caused him to fall back by 46 points behind Leclerc. But in Imola, with the newly upgraded car, he overtook Leclerc and won the race. Speaking about his initial lead in the race and about how he lost the P1 position to Verstappen because of graining on his front-left Pirelli soft tyre, Charles Leclerc said, “We struggled with the tyres at the end so we need to analyse that for tomorrow, the main race is tomorrow and we need to make sure that we are ready.”
He also said, “The pace was good until then and then we started to have graining on the front-left and lost it towards the end but it is life. We will work and come back stronger tomorrow.”
Now we all have to see how the race plays out tomorrow and if Charles Leclerc is able to gain the race lead once again.
