The 28-year-old believed it was great for viewers from Spain as they saw Carlos Alcaraz win his first-ever Wimbledon title. I’m proud for my country.”

The 28-year-old joined the Scuderia in 2021 and matched teammate Charles Leclerc. However, Sainz struggled to be on par with the Monegasque driver last season as he failed to keep up in the championship standings. Albeit, the Spaniard achieved his maiden win in Formula 1 at the 2022 British GP.

The 2023 season has been a rough start for Ferrari as the Italian team has failed to keep up with its rivals. This has put Sainz and Leclerc on the backfoot as they try to battle it at the front of the grid. Charles Leclerc managed to secure pole position at the Azerbaijan GP. However, the Spanish driver has failed to accomplish such a feat so far this year.

Carlos Sainz was happy to see his countryman achieve success at the historic Wimbledon championship. The 28-year-old mentioned that Spain as a country is witnessing great success in sports across different fields. Although, Sainz would be looking to be the one who is the next Spanish sportsperson to bring home a major victory.
