“Focus on driving please,” Max Verstappen told to just focus on his race during radio fiasco at Miami GP
Max Verstappen has been in continuous touch with his team over the radio during the ongoing Miami GP.

Max Verstappen, the reigning World Champion, is currently leading the Miami GP and has been asked to focus on his race rather than what is happening around him. Verstappen started the race from P9 but has been able to make up places very quickly and is in the running to come away with the victory.
However, Max Verstappen is well aware of the threat of Sergio Perez at the Circuit and has been in regular touch with his team on the radio, asking about the happenings of the race. While he has asked about what is going on behind him, he has been told by his team to focus on his outing. Gianpiero Lambiase, while talking to Max over the team radio, said, “Max I’m looking at that on the pit wall. you focus on driving please.”
Max Verstappen’s Red Bull crew is well aware of the critical condition that Verstappen currently is in and thus, has asked him to focus only on the race. Moreover, has assured the Dutchman that they are keeping close tabs on everything that is happening around him. Verstappen started the race on hard tires and he is yet to pit.
This is one of the main reasons why the 25-year-old is worried about what is going on behind him. Most of the grid has already pitted, but Verstappen is yet to come into the pits. When he does come into the pits, Sergio Perez would most probably take the lead of the race away from the Dutchman.
Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez are extremely close in the driver’s standings
Max Verstappen, after four races in the 2023 season, is currently leading the F1 Drivers Championship and is just six points ahead of Sergio Perez. This is one reason Verstappen looks animated during the ongoing Miami Grand Prix. He wants to keep the lead of the Championship with himself for as long as possible.
As things stand, both Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen have won two races each, and the Miami GP will act as the tiebreaker between the two prolific Red Bull drivers. The duo has done a brilliant job so far in the season and has been given the green light by Christian Horner and Co. to race each other throughout the season.
Considering everything that has happened in the Miami Grand Prix, who do you see coming away with the bragging rights between Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez? Would the former be able to keep the lead of the Drivers Championship with himself at the end of the ongoing race at the Miami Street Circuit?
