Former F1 manager ‘disillusioned’ over Lewis Hamilton, claims only Valtteri Bottas staying on as his teammate could change him
Former F1 manager Peter Windsor commented over Lewis Hamilton and his recent performances in the 2023 season.

The Brackley-based outfit of Mercedes, despite finishing second in the constructor’s, suffered from a mediocre season. Lewis Hamilton outshoned his British counterpart George Russell in terms of points. However, towards the end, the team appreciated Russell more for the “success.”
Former F1 analyst, Peter Windsor has commented over the drivers lineup for Mercedes. He exclaimed that if Hamilton was in Red Bull, or paired up with Valtteri Bottas, he would’ve been completely different from what we saw in 2023. Regardless, none of these scenarios can be true as Hamilton puts the disappointing season behind him and hopes for a comeback in 2024.
If he was in a Red Bull this year or maybe with Valtteri in the other car, I think we would have seen a different Lewis.Windsor said on his Youtube Channel.
After Hamilton suffered from a disappointing bout at the ultimate Abu Dhabi GP, Windsor also shared his piece of mind over it. Windsor commented that he was very disappointed and disillusioned to see such a performance from Hamilton. He further added that this isn’t what F1 or the Briton needed as he shifts the topic from this to his hopes for the following season of Formula 1.
Very disappointed, very disillusioned and very sad to see, This isn’t what Formula 1 needs, this isn’t what Lewis Hamilton needs. Obviously, all his motivation and all his hope is based on the 2024 Mercedes, so from his point of view, let’s hope it is a good car. But very sad to see Lewis in that situation.
Lewis Hamilton was not playing ‘victim’ according to Peter Windsor
A particular fan questioned Windsor if Hamilton was playing the victim card over not winning races. However, Windsor immediately shut down this thought and claimed that after being winless for two consecutive seasons, it would naturally affect the once dominating driver. He renounced the fact that Hamilton was surely not playing the ‘victim card’ over the status quo.
Windsor also resonated with the fact that Mercedes would potentially create a competitive W15 for the next season. He additionally claimed that even Hamilton was hoping for a much more competitive car for the following season and proclaimed that he has got all the talent in the world. All he needs is a competitive car then he can return back to his championship winning ways according to Windsor.
This season was definitely filled with a lot of ups and downs for the Briton. As the team starts to put the disappointing 2023 season behind, the crew is working day in and day out on the W15. The team will create a more ‘conventional’ W15 for the following season according to the team boss.
