The Dutchman Max Verstappen has dominated the F1 grid and his teammate Sergio Perez all around the season. Although both the drivers are at the primary two spots in the drivers’ championship, Verstappen has a 266-point lead to Perez.

This dominance has been a hot topic for many team leaders and drivers around the paddock for a long time. Former Renault F1 team’s Managing Director Cyril Abiteboul has also showered his piece of mind over Verstappen’s dominating performance.

Cyril Abiteboul recalled Merecedes’ dominance and claimed it was possible due to a single factor of the engine. Additionally, he talked about the Red Bulls and claimed that they just ‘walked on water’ this season. The team is leading the constructors’ championship by a whopping 400-point lead.

Mercedes’ dominance was due to one element: the engine. It was exceptional, Everyone has had their ups and downs, their moments of brilliance and their problems. But Red Bull has just walked on water.

Abiteboul told Franceinfo

The Frenchman applauded the Red Bulls and added that they were ‘impervious to all variables.’ He further insisted that Verstappen’s dominance over his teammate was very cruel, and he pushed Perez on the ground and broke him.

It's amazing because they seem impervious to all variables, be it wind, temperature or ground effect. That makes their dominance even more impressive. It's cruel. Verstappen is so strong that he is able to push a driver like Sergio Pérez, who has been through a lot, to the ground and break him.

Max Verstappen shattered several records this season

The Dutchman has undoubtedly displayed a sublime performance in the entire season. Verstappen won 17 out of the 20 total races held and totaled the win percentage to a whopping 85% and broke the previous record of 75% held by Alberto Ascari. This record was unbroken for the past 71 years, and hence, the 26-year-old has now set the new record.

Despite the hate that Verstappen is receiving this season for his dominant performance, fans cannot simply disagree with the fact that they are witnessing history being created. Max Verstappen is undoubtedly going to be remembered as one of the greatest of all time purely due to his performance in the recent couple of years.
