Fred Vasseur claims Ferrari is ‘happy in itself’ and will not rely on Lewis Hamilton to bring engineers to Maranello
The 55-year-old had made the decision to bring in Lewis Hamilton for the 2025 season.
Fred Vasseur and Lewis Hamilton
Ferrari has looked to be on the rise and this upward trend in performance had attracted Lewis Hamilton to move to Maranello. This move to the Scuderia has touted speculations of Mercedes personnel to follow the Briton to his new home. However, Fred Vasseur has presented his views on the situation regarding such speculations.
The Frenchman has been at the helm of the prancing horses since his arrival last season. Moreover, Vasseur has made key changes in various departments to climb the team back to its former glory. Subsequently, in a recent press interaction, the 55-year-old claimed that the team was happy with their current progress and won’t be requiring anybody’s help to transcend their path forward.
We’re building up something. And the question of the drivers, is a question of recruitment for the project, you can’t deny this, but for sure it’s a long-term, mid-term project that we have structures based on drivers. I think Ferrari is also very happy within itself.Fred Vasseur said as reported by motorsportweek.com.
The team’s Chief is convinced that the team is in a restructuring process and the changes are part of a long-term process. The Frenchman’s statement makes it clear that the team won’t be relying upon Hamilton to bring Mercedes officials to aid the process.
Fred Vasseur’s verdict on Ferrari’s pre-season testing
The Frenchman took the leadership role at the team just last year. The 55-year-old was optimistic about the test and how the team had performed throughout the three days of testing.
We get out of this test satisfied with the work done, both in terms of the mileage traveled, and the consequent amount of data collected, and from the point of view of the satisfaction of Charles and Carlos were three productive and hitch-free days, which is what you first want from testing, especially when it is the only one before the start of the season.Fred Vasseur said as reported by formulapassion.it
Vasseur explained that both the drivers were happy with the car. The complaints that the duo had last year were resolved to the most extent especially reliability issues which seemed to break the hearts of Tifosi quite often. Even considering, they didn’t have any major engine issues throughout testing.
Now, the Scuderia prepares itself for the race at Bahrain which is scheduled for the Saturday evening. Tifosi along with fans worldwide would want the prancing horses to take the fight to Red Bull and excite us all.
