Formula 1 has witnessed significant changes in recent years of the sport. Fred Vasseur, the Ferrari Team Principal, feels that the pinnacle of motor racing needs stability to grow properly and has indicated to its hierarchy to refrain from changing the current budget cap regulations.
Fred Vasseur has been associated with F1 for a long time and has, this year, taken up the huge responsibility of leading the Ferrari Formula 1 team. In recent weeks, there has been a lot of chatter in the F1 paddock around potential budget cap changes, but Vasseur believes that there is no need for it at the moment.
While talking about the same in detail, he told motorsport, “We have this set of rules. And although we have often changed the rules in between, I think the current success of Formula 1 is due to its stability. If we start changing the rules every week because someone has a problem with something or wants to invest in something, it will disappear stability.”
“The teams then want more and more space. Now Williams wants to tackle the facilities, next time another racing team wants to build new trucks or a new simulator.” He further added, “It brings stability, it reduces the differences in level and the teams have more chances to win. books. I am in favor of the direction we have taken with these rules, otherwise, this will be the end of the budget cap.“

Fred Vasseur has got an uphill battle at Ferrari

While Fred Vasseur has asked F1’s hierarchy to keep things as they are around the budget cap, he has got his problems to deal with at the Maranello-based team. The outfit is currently not where people expected, and it is up to Vasseur to guide the team to the best of his ability and bring them back to glory.
Moreover, the Frenchman has got two prolific drivers in the form of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz to help him in achieving Ferrari’s 2023 and the coming year’s objectives. The SF-23 has not lived up to the team’s hopes, and the ongoing campaign is only about damage limitation for the Italian outfit.
Considering that Ferrari has got every resource it could ask for at its disposal to improve the SF-23, it is going to be fascinating to see how the car will perform during the second leg of the ongoing campaign. Ferrari wants to secure second place in the 2023 Constructors standings, and is currently in the fourth position.
