The nightmare of the second half of the 2022 season continued for Ferrari in the 2023 season. Team principal Fred Vasseur took up the responsibility of getting the team back on track, and after a rocky start, he seems to have found his grooves. Vasseur has now given insights into the most demanding aspects of his role as the head of the Italian F1 side.
He pointed out that the most demanding aspect of his job is to figure out the shortcomings and accomplishments of his team, which would enable them to find the right path to develop their cars to perform the most optimally they can. He told Motorsports.com, “The most difficult part of the job is to understand what is going well and what is going wrong and where we can improve.”
Ferrari’s ability to manage race strategies and execute pit stops has been a major concern for the team. It attracted negative reactions from the Tifosis and put a negative media spotlight on the team. While addressing it, Vasseur claims. “We are working a lot to try to get the last couple of tenths that are missing today. But we are in the middle of the process, and it’s a non-end process.”

Ferrari’s high hopes about 2024 F1 season
The Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz stand in the 5th and 7th positions with 99 and 92 points, respectively. The team has a very limited scope of finishing in the top 3 of the constructors championship and has now shifted their focus to the 2024 challenger.
Vasseur told the media ahead of the Dutch GP that he has high hopes for the 2024 F1 season as the car will have many changes with limited inspired parts from this year’s car. He said, “The project for the 2024 car is a different project. We’ll have some carryover from this year’s car, but the project will be completely different.”
He indicates to the media that the team won’t be using the gearbox and chassis this year, adding that this modification will enable them to rework any weak points in internal and external aerodynamics.
