The Ferrari F1 team has fallen backward on the F1 grid in comparison to their exploits of the 2022 F1 season. Keeping this in view, its Team Principal, Fred Vasseur, has asked his team to be aggressive in developing the car for the 2024 season of the pinnacle of motor racing.

The Maranello-based team has the weaponry to go after the F1 World Championship last year, but their push ran out of steam at the midway point because of reliability issues. While the SF-23 has proved quite reliable, it does not have the pace to become a nuisance for the high-flying Red Bull F1 team.

Fred Vasseur wants his team to be fighting at the front end next year, and while talking about the same, he said, as reported by Formula.uno, “For the single-seater for 2024, we are still at the philosophical concepts. The numbers say that you have to be aggressive in the project, but with simulations and equations, we are already at the maximum.”

We have to think differently, find margins so the drivers can push without always being at the limit.” While the Frenchman wants Ferrari to push for the absolute limits, he has also made it known that the Italian team is already at the maximum in developing the car for next year.

While Fred Vasseur and Co. are currently scratching their heads to produce a potent piece of machinery for next year, they also have a huge task on other hands during the ongoing campaign. Ferrari has got tough competition from the lights of Aston Martin, Mercedes, and even McLaren for second place in the 2023 Constructors Championship.

As things stand, Ferrari is currently fourth in the standings with 191 points to its name. Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz have contributed almost equally to the team total so far, and it will be crucial that they continue to do so during the upcoming second leg of the ongoing campaign.

Moreover, Ferrari has to keep improving the SF-23 if they are to make their way up in the standings. Otherwise, they could fall to an extremely disappointing fifth position in the standings by the end of the 2023 season. If this happens, it would be a huge body blow for the whole Ferrari F1 team.
