Lewis Hamilton and George Russell had quite a few intense moments during the 2023 F1 season. The two Mercedes drivers were seen locking horns on quite a few occasions but with the sport currently at a halt, Russell has claimed that he and Hamilton fully trust each other during their close whee-to-wheel tussles.
George Russell has been competing at the pinnacle of motor racing as Lewis Hamilton‘s partner since 2022. The duo has so far worked well together but there have been occasions when things have got heated between them. Most recently, they collided with each other during the Qatar Grand Prix.
However, despite their on-track tussles, Russell feels they trust each other during their battles. While shedding light on the same, he said, as reported by Motorsport;
We’re always going to be going across a 24-race season, an average of 60 laps per race, we cross paths a lot and he’s the driver I cross paths with the most. I think also we trust one another. There may be tense [moments], it may be hard, but we trust one another. We know that we’ll give each other enough space to fight necessarily and not go beyond the limit.
Looking at the reaction of the young Brit, it is quite clear that he and Lewis Hamilton fully trust each other when it comes to giving each other proper space during tight wheel-to-wheel action. Moreover, has admitted they try to never go beyond the limit in order to get the better of each other.
