Lewis Hamilton has a record of winning at least one race of every Formula 1 season he has been a part of, but his record seems to be coming under threat with him yet to win a race this season. Mercedes this year has been unable to produce a race winning car but they have gone on the podium a few times. They have been slowly improving with every race and with the right strategy could secure their first win of the season.

The 2022 F1 season has been disastrous for a championship team like Mercedes, but for a rookie like George Russell it has been fabulous. The 24 year old British driver has placed in top 5 of almost every race this season, with the exception of the races he did not finish.

He has been consistently outperforming his teammate and seven time World Champion, Lewis Hamilton. Currently George is 4th in the drivers championship with a total of 188 points which is 30 points more than his teammate.

With Russell’s rising stardom, many fans ponder as to whether Mercedes will shift their focus towards developing Russell as their lead driver or will they hope for another championship with Hamilton as their lead driver?
